In Islanda la ricettività non è alta, ma in tutti i centri maggiori c’è almeno un albergo con ristorante.
Nel periodo da giugno alla fine di agosto la disponibilità aumenta, perchè molti convitti scolastici vengono adibiti a hotel e gestiti dal comune o dalla catena Edda Hótel. In ogni struttura, indipendentemente dalla categoria, l’igiene è molto curata e i prezzi generalmente sono inclusivi di colazione a buffet. In alcuni hotel è possibile utilizzare il proprio sacco a pelo anziché la biancheria fornita per la camera risparmiando notevolmente sul soggiorno.

Sono assicurati colazione e pasti principali ed è possibile acquistare in qualsiasi momento bibite presso il bar.
È attivo il servizio lavanderia. L’edificio è sempre dotato di ascensore.
